The curriculum covers the following topics:

  • The Dynamics of Kundalini Yoga

  • History and Philosophy of Yoga
  • Oriental Physiology
  • Introduction to the Mind and Meditation
  • Karma and Health
  • Yogic Lifestyle (Humanology)
  • Kriyas and Asanas
  • The Spiritual Path
  • Five Tattvas

The training programme consists of three four-day modules in Devon and a week at the Amrit Nam Sarovar School’s international centre at Domaine Le Martinet in the French Alps, which will also be attended by Level I students from across Europe, including Germany, France, Belgium, Switzerland, Austria and Spain. Teaching will be in English and translated into other languages.

Karta Singh founded the Amrit Nam Sarovar School to provide international teacher training and to allow people to experience their own potential. The school has trained over 750 Level I Kundalini yoga instructors over the last 20 years, and the Level II training course has been running for almost as long. Amrit Nam Sarovar is a network of centres in Europe, providing students with the chance to experience Yogi Bhajan’s concept that ‘there are no boundaries’. The training allows you to gain a deep understanding and experience of what trust is within a group. In the three Devon-based training modules you will experience this within a smaller group dynamic, and then the residential summer week in France provides the experience on a bigger level. This year there were over 150 on the summer week.

After successful completion of the course you will be awarded a Diploma certifying you as an Instructor for Kundalini Yoga, issued by the Kundalini Research Institute (KRI) in Espanola, New Mexico, USA.

The Amrit Nam Sarovar motto is: To Teach To Learn To Serve. Through completion of the Level I programme you are able to become a true student through teaching. The programme provides a comprehensive training in both theory and techniques of Kundalini yoga, and gives you the foundations for a successful and rewarding life. You will gain the knowledge and self-confidence to make a difference both within yourself and in the world around you, making some lifelong friendships along the way as you develop a strong practice within a supported structure.
