YOGA FOR YOUTH | BENEFITS

Coming from a secondary school teaching background I have been inspired to try and get more yoga and meditation into secondary schools. Young people often need as many tools as they can to help them through an often turbulent time in their life.

After leaving teaching I went to India to work at the International Miri Piri Academy in Amritsar (student ages ranging from 10 -19). Started by Yogi Bhajan this school teaches Kundalini yoga and philosophy to its pupils as an integral part of the academic curriculum.

I was fascinated to see the benefits it had on the young people's minds and confidence. Since returning to England, I have started teaching Kundalini yoga in schools in London and now offer a range of different classes to suit each school.

To help provide an accessible program I run a selection of courses including:

· Yoga and Meditation classes

· Gifted and Talented sessions

· Anger management courses

· Emotional Balance workshops

· After school sessions for teachers.

Every school and child is different and courses can be adapted to suit particular needs. It is common practice for a course to run for a minimum of 6 weeks so the benefits can be fully realised.
