I have entered the world of somatic healing and completed my first training of JITSH. I will be offering both JITSH sessions in person and 1-2-1 online yoga and breath work session in 2024. Watch this space. All of this has been underpinned with a 15 month Marketing course with the inspiring @dream_project_coach. Turns out it was just what I needed to make some big shifts inside and out. I am forever on the road to learn as much as I can about life and healing so I can bring this deep experience into my teaching. Classes, workshops and trainings for 2024 are going to be deeper, more spacious and more nourishing than ever before. One of my big take always from 2023 is that collaboration is KEY for growth and expansion. 1+1 = infinity and possibilities are endless when we work together and support one another. Always fun and interesting to practice yoga in India. Here is Maiju. He has been my teacher for the last 3 days. Introducing me to doing sequences differently and the joy of headstand (which as you may know we don’t usually do in Kundalini yoga). Practicing out side, sea eagles and mosquitoes to enjoy 😉 and then a masala dosa for breakfast. It really is my idea of heaven on earth.

Creativity

I read last week that creativity is the other side of the coin to anxiety and worry. Of course it is!!!! This makes so much sense to me. The brain is looking for ways to expand and if you are not really careful your natural creativity, the resource you were born with in abundance, can easily tun into anxiety and worry as you get older. When our mind it not being kept busy with creating, it will create though the negative mind (naturally the first mind to kick in) and creative negative realities for us - The famous what if? I look at the way my kids play and the creativity just pours from them. This flow of creativity changes so much as the years of our life flows by and im feeling inspired to tap into it again.

I have been meaning to make this wreath for over about 10 months. I have collected and saved bits fo grass and seeds, some artichoke heads from a friends garden. I often forget its ready to be made, or remember during the week when I need to focus on work tasks and ’not be creative’ says the voice in my head. But today I went to an early morning yoga class at @lunaandwolfexeter. It was a good class and we did a lot of hip opening.. need I say more, my creativity was activated, I came home and made this. Its amazing what a yoga class can do. Im really pleased with it.

I am so excited to confirm the teachers joining the Level 1 Teacher Training starting in September.

I never ever thought I would be a yoga teacher but ……………..
…….a wise woman once told me that she believed a yoga based training of some sort should be mandatory for all human beings because to learn how to breath is a gift… to learn how to breath and move at the same time is pure magic ⭐️ and your life really begins to change in many positive ways. So I thought I would sign up to a training and see what happened.

Fast forward 16 years and I am now training teachers and I could not be more happy. This training is for any human being who wants to unlock the magic in their lives through the transformative power of kundalini yoga. It’s mixed ability and we have trained teachers who are in their 60’s… it’s never to late to learn.

The theme of the workshops -

Turn Fear and Fright into Light.

The exquisite alchemy of Kundalini resides in its innate potential of transforming redundant thought forms and emotional patterns into light.This workshop offers a method of releasing fear, timidity or fright - the shadow emotions of the Kidney complex - into light. To initiate this process we will work with Kriya, mantra and meditation.

Guru Dharam has been teaching yoga for 40 years.His formal qualifications have been complemented by intensive postgraduate interdisciplinary study of indigenous healing; Kabbalah, Meso-American Shamanic Dreaming, West African healing practice, White Lotus healing, Black Hat Feng Shui and the Red Thread empowerments. He has grown his Yoga Therapy training into a global network. Guru Dharam and Darryl also co-authored the book The Kundalini Yoga Experience.

Shrove Tuesday (pancake day) is celebrated in many

Shrove Tuesday (pancake day) is celebrated in many countries around the world. Ash Wednesday follows marking the start of the period of Lent. This is a period of 40 days leading up to Easter Sunday. The practice of doing something for 40 days crosses many faiths and cultures as its considered to take the mind 40 days to integrate a new practice to a point where it no longer feels new. Tomorrow is a wonderful time to start your own 40 day practice. So Why not give it a try?
Here are a few suggestions…
- 5 mins of dancing to your favourite music.
- Starting each day with 3 things you are grateful for
- 10 mins of long deep breathing
- A 40 day 11 minuet meditation practice (I have included one in this post you can use)

The Practice (see photo)

Posture: Sit in an Easy Pose, with a light jalandhar bandh. Straighten the spine and make sure the 1st six lower vertebrae are locked forward.

Mudra: Make fists of both hands and extend the thumbs straight. Place the thumbs on the temples and find the niche where the thumbs just fit. This is the lower anterior portion of the frontal bone above the temporal-sphenoidal suture.

Lock the back molars together and keep the lips closed. Keeping the teeth pressed together throughout, alternately squeeze the molars tightly and then release the pressure. A muscle will move in rhythm under the thumbs. Feel it massage the thumbs and apply a firm pressure with the hands.

Eyes: Keep the eyes closed and focus at the Brow Point.

Mantra: Silently vibrate the four primal sounds—Sa Ta Na Ma—at the brow point.
